This Texas Longhorn statue was placed on the Roberts County Museum lawn in honor of Cecil Gill, Director of the Roberts County Museum 1979-2012. The life sized casting was donated by his family.
The longhorn played an important role in the history of Texas. After the civil war beef was sold to the Yankees who were short on food supplies thus bringing income to the recovering state. This statue is a fitting tribute to the man who has played an important role by working tirelessly to preserve the history of Miami and Roberts County for future generations.
